Job Description: The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator places graduate students in medical and public school externship and provides clinical supervision to them in the Truesdail Speech and Hearing Center while giving a strong foundation to under graduate students in communication sciences.
Job Responsibilities: The duties of an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator includes but not limited to the following:-
1. Placing students in school and hospital settings to complete their externship hours.
2. Oversees the evaluation of the students at site and gathers site supervisor feedback and work accordingly.
3. Do site visits to view students and get supervisory feedback and work accordingly.
4. Develop and maintains a relationship with community externship partners.Educational Qualifications & Work Experience: A Master’s degree is required with minimum three years of experience in speech-language pathology, clinical certification from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, and eligible for a California State license and credential.
The successful candidate should have experience supervising clinical experiences of graduate students in the area of speech and language disorders, documented teaching experience and demonstrable teaching skills, and recent experience working as a speech-language pathologist in the public schools.
Experience in a medical setting is most preferable.
